Aqua Anchor Information

Who’s It For?
The Aqua Anchor System is specifically designed for:
-
Contractors performing elevated work
-
Building Owners & Managers overseeing properties without fixed roof anchorage systems
It offers a safe and effective solution for descending and working on buildings where traditional anchor systems are not available.
Important Safety Guidelines
-
Users must verify local commercial roof weight ratings prior to use
-
The system must be filled with the appropriate amount of water to remain below roof load limits
-
A weight-to-gallon ratio chart is included in the user manual to ensure proper and safe setup
This combination of flexibility and safety makes the Aqua Anchor System one of the most versatile and responsible solutions available for fall protection.
Safety & Engineering Advantage
Safety is the foundation of the Aqua Anchorage system, combining intelligent design with real-world adaptability.
-
Engineered to weigh 46 lbs. per square inch
-
Falls below the maximum roof load rating for most commercial buildings
-
Adjustable weight system allows users to meet local roof load requirements
-
Non-penetrating design protects roof structure and integrity
NO ROOF PENETRATION REQUIRED
PORTABLE AND EASY TO DEPLOY
OSHA-COMPLIANT FALL PROTECTION SOLUTION
ADJUSTABLE FOR VARYING ROOF LOAD CAPACITIES
Why Choose Aqua Anchor?
Compliance & OSHA Enforcement
In the event of an accident resulting in serious injury or fatality, OSHA will conduct a full site investigation. This includes:
-
Collecting and analyzing equipment used on-site
-
Interviewing all involved personnel
-
Reviewing compliance with applicable safety standards
Failure to meet OSHA requirements can result in significant consequences for both building owners and contractors.
Potential Penalties for Non-Compliance
Organizations found to be operating out of compliance may face:
-
OSHA citations
-
Monetary fines and penalties
-
Placement in the Severe Violator Enforcement Program (SVEP)
-
Follow-up inspections across additional job sites
Maintaining compliance is not optional, it is critical for both safety and business continuity.
Approved Applications of the Aqua Anchor System
The 5,000 lb. Aqua Anchor System is designed to meet specific OSHA-compliant use cases:
Life Safety Applications
-
Can be used as a life safety rope connection point for personnel working on swing stage scaffolding platforms
-
In accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502(d)(15)
Scaffold Anchorage
-
Suitable as an anchorage point for mobile swing stage scaffolding beams
-
Meets OSHA requirements outlined in 29 CFR 1926.451(a)(1)
-
Must support:
-
Its own weight plus at least 4× the maximum intended load (4X safety factor)
-

Important Limitation: RDS Systems
AEI has formally submitted a request to OSHA to allow Rope Descent Systems (RDS) to utilize anchorage systems with 2X or 4X safety factors, consistent with other standards.
At this time:
-
The Aqua Anchor cannot be used as an integral anchorage for RDS systems
-
Use is limited to currently approved OSHA applications
We remain committed to advancing industry standards and will update guidance as regulations evolve.
Using One Bladder For Fall Restraint:
Impact Load testing of a Single Aqua Anchor Bladder System (SAABS) tested at 1,125 lbs. with a pull test of 925 lbs.
CFR 1926.502 states a need for '... at least twice the maximum expected force to restrain a person from exposure to a fall hazard.'
The SAABS has two connection points on each side of the bladder. These may all be used as part of a Personal Fall Restraint System depending upon the workers circumstances and calculation of need .
